The monthly meeting of the Hospital Board was held this morning. Present —Messrs Goodbehere (chairman), Aisher, Mowlem, Williamson, Booth, Dicken.

An apology was received from the absent members, and accepted. 

CORRESPONDENCE.[]

The following correspondence was read and dealt with:— 

From Secretary of the Wellington Hospital Board, stating that J. Pinder had been admitted to the Wellington Hospital, and forwarding the account for maintenance. —Resolved, That the Board would not recognise any responsibility in the matter. 

From the Secretary of the Loyal Feilding Lodge, asking for particulars as to the issue of hospital tickets to the members of friendly societies. —Referred to Messrs Aisher, Mowlem, and the Secretary to report at the next meeting. 

From the Loan and Mercantile Co., forwarding £1, the proceeds of a sale of sheep the property of Mrs Caldwell, and sold for the benefit of the Hospital.— Resolved that a vote of thanks be passed to Mrs Caldwell for her donation. 

From N. Anderson, asking for time in which to pay her Hospital account. — Resolved that time be given. 

A vote of thanks was passed to the local Chinese for their donation of £16 14s, which together with the subsidy will amount to £36 14s.

The Secretary reported that the drainage system at the Hospital had been examined since last meeting, and was found to be in an excellent condition. It was not, as. supposed, that any of the main drains ran under the Wards, and arrangements were being made to have the drains marked on the plan.

The Chairman reported that since last meeting one of the gardeners had been discharged by him, and he asked that his action be confirmed. —Action confirmed. 

Accounts amounting to £212 11s 11d were passed for payment. 

The Board then went into committee.
