Charlie Yung Sing was a fruiterer who resided at 25 Frederick Street in 1913, when, on March 18, he was assaulted by Vincent Furness, 27, and George Patrick Macnamara, 20.

Sing sustained severe injuries to his head, after the drunken Furness and Macnamara threw beer bottles at him, and he required medical treatment, including stitches.[1]

Both men pleaded not guilty, but both were were found guilty of common assault.[2]
